Advisor to the Insurance Sector

Are you a highly skilled lawyer with a background as an assessor in the court of appeal or administrative court and with substantial work experience in qualified legal work? Are you also interested in working on important societal issues in a central part of a dynamic and exciting authority? We at the Financial Supervisory Authority (FI) are currently looking for an advisor to the Insurance Sector!

About the Job

As an advisor in the Insurance Law department, you are a central part of the Insurance Sector, which is responsible for supervision, regulation, and licensing within the insurance and occupational pension area.

Your main task is to maintain high legal quality in supervisory matters related to the insurance and occupational pension area, with a particular focus on investigations as well as the preparation of sanctions and other interventions. You may also represent the authority in court, lead projects, participate in steering groups, and provide legal support in supervisory, regulatory, and licensing work, including legal research. You will also contribute to developing methodologies and processes for the department's work.

You report directly to the department head and collaborate closely with unit managers and other employees in the department. You also cooperate with other departments within the sector, various functions within FI, and with external stakeholders.

Your Education and Experience

We are looking for someone who:

  • has a law degree (jur.kand or equivalent)
  • has substantial work experience in relevant qualified legal work
  • is an assessor in the court of appeal or administrative court
  • has a very good ability to identify, analyze, and transform complex material into relevant issues according to applicable regulations, and provide proposals for legal positions
  • expresses themselves very well in Swedish, both orally and in writing.

It is an advantage if you:

  • have broad knowledge of financial regulation, preferably with specialization in one or more of the financial regulations that will be applied within the sector.
  • have a degree in economics
  • have experience in regulatory work from the Government Offices or equivalent
  • have experience in supervision, licensing, or other governmental authority functions
  • have experience leading projects and adapting feedback to employees with varying degrees of legal knowledge.
